The Apple TV App Is Finally Available on Android Smartphones and Tablets

Apple today announced that the Apple TV app is now available to download from Google Play on Android mobile devices, including smartphones, tablets, and foldable devices. The app had previously been available on Android TV and Google TV smart TVs and streaming set-top boxes.

Android users can now subscribe to Apple TV+ and MLS Season Pass using their Google Play account on Android mobile and Google TV devices. Apple TV+ also offers a seven-day free trial.

The Android Apple TV app features include “Continue Watching” to pick up where a user left off viewing a show or movie across all their devices, and “Watchlist” allows viewers to keep track of everything they want to watch in the future. The app not only streams over a Wi-Fi or a cellular connection, it also includes the ability to download content to watch offline.

Android users can now subscribe to Apple TV+, which offers several drama and comedy series, feature films, documentaries, and kids and family entertainment. Hit titles on Apple TV+ include series like Severance, Slow Horses, The Morning Show, Presumed Innocent, Shrinking, Hijack, Loot, Palm Royale, Masters of the Air, and Ted Lasso. Meanwhile, Apple Original films like Wolfs, The Instigators, The Family Plan, Killers of the Flower Moon, CODA, and more are also available for viewing.

Android users are just in time to enjoy Major League Soccer’s 2025 season, as they can now subscribe to MLS Season Pass. The subscription service offers is available in the Apple TV app, and offers soccer fans every MLS match in one location with no blackouts All 30 MLS clubs will be in action as the league kicks off its 30th season the weekend of February 22. New for 2025, Apple TV+ subscribers can also enjoy Sunday Night Soccer, a weekly primetime standalone match showcasing MLS’s most compelling matchups.

Apple TV+ is also the home of Friday Night Baseball, which is a weekly Major League Baseball double-header with no local broadcast restrictions.
