Listing for ‘New’ iPhone SE Product on French Website

A new fourth-generation iPhone SE is expected to be announced this week, and French electronics retailer Boulanger has prematurely posted a product listing for a “new” iPhone SE. The placeholder page, which has since been removed from the website, said only that the device is “coming soon.”

The listing, spotted by a reader of the French technology news website Numerama, did not include any additional information and included an obviously incorrect price for the handset. It is unclear if Boulanger has indeed bene told by Apple that a new iPhone SE is on the way, or if the placeholder page was created to be ready in case rumors about the new handset are correct.

While many, including Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, had expected the iPhone SE 4 to be announced sometime this week, Gurman now says the handset “should be announced by next week.”

Apple has not scheduled a press event, so the new iPhone SE will likely be announced in a press release on the Apple Newsroom website.

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature an iPhone 14-style design, with a USB-C port and Face ID, replacing the Lightning port  and Touch ID Home button the current iPhone SE is equipped with.

The fourth-generation iPhone SE’s display is said to considerably increase in size, from the current 4.7 inches to 6.06 inches, and will also feature an OLED display panel for the first time. The new ‌iPhone SE‌4 is also expected to be powered by the same A18 chip as the iPhone 16 lineup, providing support for Apple Intelligence. The handset is expected to include 8GB of LPDDR5 memory, an aluminum chassis, and a single rear 48-megapixel camera.

Apple is also planning to use its own custom in-house modem in the ‌iPhone SE‌ 4, making it the first ‌iPhone‌ to get the new modem chip.

The fourth-generation ‌iPhone SE‌ is expected to carry a price tag of $499 to $549. The current iPhone SE debuted in March 2022 and carried a $429 price tag.
