The new iPhone 16e can support USB-C fast charging up to 29W, according to a regulatory filing published in China (first noticed by MySmartPrice).
If this is accurate, it matches the charging speeds of the other iPhone 16 models, which achieved maximum sustained charging speeds of around 30W. We will likely see the results of charging tests from other sources once the iPhone 16e starts being delivered around the globe later this month, which will confirm or deny the Chinese regulatory filing.
Apple supply chain analyst Jeff Pu has said the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max will all support up to 35W wired charging speeds.
Apple is now accepting orders for the new iPhone 16e through its website storefront and through the Apple Store app. Pre-orders are being accepted in more than 59 countries and regions around the world.
iPhone 16e will be available in two matte finishes — black and white. In the U.S., three storage capacities are available: 128GB ($599), 256GB ($699), and 512GB ($899). Apple is also promoting carrier deals from AT&T, Boost Mobile, T-Mobile, and Verizon in the US.
