Apple TV App Finally Including Netflix Series in ‘Continue Watching’ Section

After several years of not making an appearance, certain Netflix shows have begun being listed in the TV app’s “Continue Watching” selection. Netflix has long kept its own app, never of allowing its shows to be included in Apple’s own TV app.

This week, Apple TV 4K users in the US are finally being prompted to “Connect Netflix to the Apple TV app,” allowing at least some Netflix titles to start appearing there. Now, selected Netflix series such as “Squid Game” are appearing in the Apple TV app’s Watchlist and Continue Watching sections.

As first spotted by 9to5mac, yet, the entire Netflix catalog is not yet available via Apple’s TV app, and for now at least, the feature is only working in the United States. The new integration is solely available for Apple TV set top boxes released since late 2015. Netflix announced in mid-2024 that it would no longer support the older second and third generation Apple TVs.

Apple designed its TV app to act as a one-stop hub for all content on Apple TV set-top boxes. Since tvOS 13, a press of the Home button on the Siri Remote has defaulted to opening the TV app.

While many streaming services have opted to have their content included in the Watchlist and Continue Watching sections, Netflix has stood on the sidelines, meaning viewers have had to leave the Apple TV app to open the Netflix app to see what’s new or coming next.

Neither Apple or Netflix has provided comment about the move, and no announcement has been made about whether the entire Netflix catalog will be included in the TV app.
