Apple Seeds First Public Betas of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4

Apple today seeded the first public betas of its upcoming iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4 updates for testing. The public betas come just a few days after Apple seeded developers the first developer betas.

The new beta for iPhone, iPad, and Mac includes Priority Notifications, an Apple Intelligence feature designed to show you your most important notifications first, plus a new Sketch style for Image Playground.

A new Apple News+ Food section for ‌Apple News‌+ subscribers aggregates recipes, food stories, and tips for healthy eating, plus an Ambient Music feature for playing music from Control Center.

The iOS 18.4 beta includes a dedicated Apple Vision Pro app, which will be available on your iPhone if you have a Vision Pro headset connected to your Apple Account. The app can also be downloaded from the App Store if you do not have a Vision Pro.

The Vision Pro app is designed to aid users in finding content, get assistance, and learn about new Vision Pro features. The includes tools for adding content to the Apple TV app to watch later, downloading apps remotely, and more.

A dedicated Discover page that offers curated recommendations for new experiences that are available on Vision Pro, including apps and games, more than 300 3D movies, immersive videos, spatial photos, videos, and more.

The ‌iPad‌ and Mac gain Mail Categorization, a feature that was previously limited to the ‌iPhone‌.

While there had been rumors that iOS 18.4 would bring new Apple Intelligence features to Siri, Apple has reportedly been running into development difficulties and bugs and the features are not working as intended.

As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas or release candidates on their daily driver iPhone or iPad. Instead, only install betas on a device set aside for testing purposes.
