Apple Seeds First Betas of iOS 18.4 & iPadOS 18.4 – Includes New Vision Pro App

Apple today seeded the first betas of its upcoming iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 updates to developers for testing. The new betas come one month following the public release of iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3.

iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 can be downloaded on a compatible device by going to the Settings app and tapping “General” -> “Software Update“.

The iOS 18.4 beta includes a dedicated Apple Vision Pro, which will be available on your iPhone if you have a Vision Pro headset connected to your Apple Account. The app can also be downloaded from the App Store if you do not have a Vision Pro.

The Vision Pro app is designed to aid users in finding content, get assistance, and learn about new Vision Pro features. The includes tools for adding content to the Apple TV app to watch later, downloading apps remotely, and more.

A dedicated Discover page that offers curated recommendations for new experiences that are available on Vision Pro, including apps and games, more than 300 3D movies, immersive videos, spatial photos, videos, and more.

While there had been rumors that iOS 18.4 would bring new Apple Intelligence features to Siri, Apple has reportedly been running into development difficulties and bugs and the features are not working as intended.

As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas or release candidates on their daily driver iPhone or iPad. Instead, you should only install betas on a device set aside for testing purposes.
