Apple is internally testing iOS 18.3.1 for iPhones, as devices running the unreleased version of iOS are showing up in websites’ analytic logs, reports MacRumors. This is usually a reliable indicator of an upcoming iOS update. If it works like it usually does, iOS 18.3.1 should be released sometime in the next few weeks.
iOS 18.3.1 is likely a minor bug fix/security fix release. It’s possible Apple may once gain enable Apple intelligence notification summaries for news and entertainment apps, which was temporarily disabled in iOS 18.3, due to issues with inaccurate summaries.
Apple released iOS 18.3 last week, but has yet to seed the first beta of iOS 18.4, which is expected to bring several Apple Intelligence enhancements for Sir, new emoji, and more. Apple’s website indicate that iOS 18.4 will be released in April, once beta testing has been completed.
