Apple Discontinues iPhone SE, iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 Plus

Apple Discontinues iPhone SE, iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 Plus

Following the unveiling of the new iPhone 16e earlier today, Apple has discontinued the third-generation iPhone SE, the iPhone 14, and the iPhone 14 Plus.

Apple’s lineup now consists of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and iPhone 16e.

With the iPhone SE reaching its end of life, several long-time iPhone features have also bit the dust. There are no longer any models available with an LCD screen, a screen smaller than 6-inches in size, a Home button, and Touch ID.

New iPhone buyers will want to pay close attention to the features offered on the members of the iPhone lineup before buying. For example, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus boast a display with the newer Dynamic Island, they are powered by a two-generations-old A16 Bionic chip and do not offer support for Apple Intelligence. Meanwhile, the new iPhone 16e does support Apple Intelligence, thanks to it being powered by Apple’s latest A18 chip, it lacks the Dynamic Island, instead still using an outdated notch.

We’ll likely see Apple drop the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus from the lineup when the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, and iPhone 17 Pro models launch in September.
