AirTag 2 to Debut This Spring, Claims Leaker

There have been several rumors about an upcoming AirTag 2 tracker in the last year or so, and a leaker says the wait is almost over.

Leaker Kosutami posted on X on Monday that the AirTag 2 is coming this spring, as soon as May or June.

There are three main features expected for Apple’s AirTag successor:

  • Better range
  • More modern wireless chip
  • Improved privacy features

Another indicator that second-generation AirTags are soon to debut, some retailers are offering excellent discounts on first-generation AirTags. At the time of this writing, Amazon is offering a four pack of AirTags for just $67.99 USD.

Kosutami also hints that soon home accessories are “knocking your door,” possibly referencing the ‘HomePad’ and AirPods Pro 3.

While most observers aren’t expecting to see new AirPods Pro until fall, the HomePad is expected by many to debut this spring, likely around the time Apple debuts iOS 18.5, which is expected to include new Siri/Apple Intelligence improvements.
