New Report Claims Apple in Final Stages of Selecting Foldable Display Supplier

New Report Claims Apple in Final Stages of Selecting Foldable Display Supplier

Apple is close to selecting the main supplier for its its next-generation foldable display technology, according to a new report from the Naver blog account “yeux1122.”

Apple has not yet decided on its final key supplier, but the industry expects a decision to be made by late February to early April .

Citing a source within Apple’s supply chain, the report says Apple has maintained strict technical requirements for potential suppliers, focusing on maintaining current industry standards for thickness, size, and curvature radius while demanding significant improvements in durability and crease prevention.

Some domestic component manufacturers reportedly have recently made excellent progress in meeting Apple’s specifications.

Apple is expected to make a final decision sometime between late February and early April.

While the report doesn’t mention which device the foldable displays will be used for, it is likely destined for use in Apple’s much rumored foldable iPhone. However, there have also been rumblings of a foldable iPad, which some believe could be Apple’s first foldable device.
