HomePod Mini 2 and New Apple TV Launch Toward the End of the Year

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently said Apple is planning to release new HomePod mini and Apple TV models this year, and now he has narrowed down the launch timeframe.

In the latest issue of his Power On newsletter, Gurman stated Apple is currently aiming to launch the new HomePod mini and Apple TV models “toward the end of the year,” indicating that the updated devices will be released sometime in the September – November timeframe.

The next Apple TV will likely include a newer A-series chip, a starting price as low as $99 in the U.S., and a built-in camera for FaceTime video calls.

Meanwhile, the HomePod mini will likely receive upgrades including a newer S-series chip for faster performance, improved sound quality, and fresh color options.

Back in December, Gurman said a new HomePod mini and Apple TV would be a part of Apple’s revamped smart home roadmap, which will also include an all-new home hub, a Face ID doorbell/lock, and a security camera.

In a report on an upcoming Apple-designed Bluetooth and Wi-Fi chip, Gurman said that the chip will be introduced in a new ‌Apple TV‌ and ‌HomePod mini‌ that are “scheduled” for 2025. Gurman also mentions that the chip will be included in iPhones “later next year,” indicating the new chip will come to the ‌HomePod mini‌ and the ‌Apple TV‌ lineups before September.

While the component will support Wi-Fi 6E, it may not boast all of the same features of Broadcom’s chips with the first-generation in-house Wi-Fi chip.
