Apple Discounts Flagship iPhone and Other Products in China as it Faces Fierce Competition

Apple Discounts Flagship iPhone and Other Products in China as it Faces Fierce Competition

Apple will be offering rare discounts on its flagship iPhone models and several other products in China between January 4 and January 7. The Cupertino firms is attempting to counter competition in the country, as well as fluctuating demand. China is one of Apple’s largest markets.

Apple will offer discounts of up to 500 yuan (approximately $68 USD) on iPhone 16 Pro and ‌iPhone 16 Pro‌ Max models sold through its website, as well as Apple Stores in mainland China. The iPhone 16 and ‌iPhone 16‌ Plus will be discounted by 400 yuan, while iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models will be discounted up to 300 yuan.

Other products receiving a discount include the iPad, MacBook Air, Apple Watch, AirPods, and Apple Pencil. The ‌MacBook Air‌ will receive a discount of up to 800 yuan. Items are available in limited quantities. For example, only 29,300 iPhones will be sold at the discounted price.

Apple directly discounting its most recent products is somewhat unusual, especially where its flagship iPhone models are concerned. Most discounts and promotions are usually offered by third-party retailers in China. This latest promotion comes as Apple is facing heightened competition from Huawei and other Chinese device makers.
