Apple released iOS 18.2, and as usual, it has now stopped signing iOS 18.1.1, making downgrading to that version of iOS no longer possible. iOS 18.2 is now the only publicly released version of iOS available.
The iOS 18.2 software can be downloaded on compatible devices over the air by going to “Settings” -> “General” -> “Software Update.”
The iOS 18.1.1 update provided important security fixes, but no other notable changes. Meanwhile, the iOS 18.2 update brought several new Apple Intelligence features to compatible iPhones.
While falling back to an older iOS version is often used by users who jailbreak their iPhones, it can also be helpful for users who experience significant bugs after upgrading to the latest version of iOS.
Apple has also stopped signing iOS 17.7.2.
