New Report Claims Third-Generation HomePod to Feature 6-7 Inch OLED Display

A new report by Korean outlet SE Daily claims Apple’s upcoming third-generation HomePod will feature a 6- to 7-inch OLED display. The Korean-language report claims industry insiders tell it that Apple will use Tianma, a Chinese display manufacturer, to supply the OLED panels for the new HomePod, which will be released in 2025.

We’ve seen several rumors about a new HomePod sporting a display since 2021. The latest rumor jibes with statements from Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has recently said Tianma would be the display provider for the new HomePod, although he did not specify that it would be an OLED panel.

Several versions are said to be in development, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicating several variants with screens were under development, including one with a screen mounted on a robotic arm, as well as one with an iPad-like display. Gurman indicated these devices would debut sometime before 2025.

The new HomePod is expected to emphasize smart home features more than current models do.

Initial shipment numbers for the new HomePod are expected to be modest, with Kuo forecasting an initial run of around 500,000 units during the second half of 2025.
