‘Hello, Computer’ – Voice Control Could Be Coming to Apple’s Magic Mouse in 2026

A redesigned version of Apple’s Magic Mouse featuring voice controls is on the way, likely in 2026, claims a Korean leaker.

The Korean Apple leaker known as “yeux1122” says that Apple’s next Magic Mouse will boast a new, more ergonomic design that finally addresses the much maligned location of the charging port. (The Magic Mouse charging port is located on the underside of both the Lightning and USB-C versions of the Magic Mouse, making it impossible to use the mouse while it is charging.)

Recently, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple was working on a major revamp of the Magic Mouse. While no specific details were provided by Gurman, he said Apple’s designers were “looking to create something that’s more relevant, while also fixing longstanding complaints.”

Apple proposed revamp of the Magic Mouse includes a mixture of touch, voice controls, and hand gestures. It reportedly plans to release the new Magic Mouse alongside the release of a new OLED, M6-powered MacBook Pro in 2026.

The design of the Magic Mouse hasn’t changed much since its 2009 debut, with only minor changes over the year, including the move from AA batteries to a rechargeable power source in 2015, the introduction of color-matching options with the iMac in 2021, and a move from Lightning to USB-C charging in 2024.
