Apple has released an iCloud Passwords add-on for the Firefox browser, allowing Firefox users with a Mac to quickly access logins and passwords stored in the macOS Sequoia Passwords app or iCloud Keychain.
The extension appears to have been developed by a third-party developer and has now been acquired and updated by Apple.
Any new passwords users create in Firefox are saved to their iCloud Keychain, allowing them to be available across a user’s Apple devices. The extension can also generate verification codes, which can be set up by right-clicking on a QR code.
The iCloud Passwords extension is compatible with macOS Sonoma or later.
With the release of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia 15, Apple debuted a dedicated Passwords app that works similar to most popular third-party password manager apps.
