Apple released the second beta of iOS 18.2 on Monday to developers for testing. In the beta, Apple has modified the ChatGPT option in the Apple Intelligence & Siri section of the Settings app to add an “Advanced Capabilities” section. The new section displays whether or not you’ve reached your daily limit for free requests, while also offering the option to upgrade to ChatGPT Plus. The option is available even if you do not have the ChatGPT app installed.
Users are allowed a small number of requests that use the most advanced ChatGPT capabilities. Once the limit has been reached, any additional requests are restricted to a basic version of ChatGPT.
The free access to ChatGPT-40 requests resets every 24 hours. Once the daily limit has been reached, Siri will use the more basic version of ChatGPT. The free plan places a limit of two images per day on DALL-E3 creations.
Users can upgrade to ChatGPT Plus, which is priced at $19.99 per month. The upgrade offers five times more requests on the newest version of ChatGPT, GPT-4o. Higher limits on photo and file uploads are also allowed, along with higher limits for image generation, and web browsing, as well as the ability to converse with ChatGPT using advanced voice mode.
If a user already has a ChatGPT Plus plan can sign into their account. Those that wish to sign up can do so through the Settings app, which opens to an in-app browser to allow ChatGPT Plus signup directly through OpenAI.
