Apple today announced that its usual extended return policy is now in effect for the 2024 holiday shopping season. The longer return policy applies to most products that Apple sells, but there are a few exceptions, including carrier-financed iPhones.
In the United States, Canada, the UK, Australia, and some other countries, purchases made between November 8 and December 25 of this year may be returned through January 8, 2025. All purchases made after December 25 in those countries are subject to Apple’s standard 14-day return policy.:
Holiday Return Policy
Eligible products at the Apple Store Online that are received between November 8, 2024 and December 25, 2024, may be returned through January 8, 2025. Please note that all other terms and conditions provided in the Apple Store Online Sales and Refunds Policy are still applicable with respect to such products purchased. iPhone purchases that are carrier-financed with T-Mobile or Verizon are not eligible and are subject to standard return policy. All purchases made after December 25, 2024 are subject to the Standard Return Policy.
The extended return policy applies to most products sold by Apple, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, HomePod mini, Apple TV, AirPods, accessories, and more.
There are some items, however, that are ineligible for return, including:
*You can return software, provided that it has not been installed on any computer. Software that contains a printed software license may not be returned if the seal or sticker on the software media packaging is broken.
In some countries like Italy, Spain, and Japan, there is a longer extended return policy in effect, with most items purchased between November 3, 2023 and January 6, 2024 may be returned through January 20, 2024.

If you placed an order through Apple’s online store, the extended return policy applies to eligible products that you receive between November 8 and December 25 too. So, anyone who pre-ordered a new Mac mini, iMac, or MacBook Pro has until January 8 to return those computers, if they so choose.
In some countries, such as Italy, Spain, Japan, and Mexico, the return window is slightly longer. Apple says most products purchased in those countries between November 8 and January 6 may be returned through January 20.
Apple has also updated its online “Store” page with gift recommendations for the holidays.
