Apple News Offers Ability to Track 2024 Election Results on Your iPhone Lock Screen

Apple News Offers Ability to Track 2024 Election Results on Your iPhone Lock Screen

Today is November 5, 2024, Election Day in the United States, and iPhone users have the ability to track Presidential electoral results in real time on their device’s Lock Screen.

U.S. iPhone users with an iPhone running iOS 16.1 or newer, or an iPad running iPadOS 17 or later, can activate the feature via the Apple News app. The feature provides election updates without the need to unlock your device and repeatedly visit or refresh news websites.

To ensure that you won’t miss any updates when coverage begins, do the following. Open the Apple News app and you’ll be prompted to tap the prominent “Follow Live” button.

The Live Activity will then appear as an interactive widget on your Lock Screen, allowing you to quickly access more detailed coverage with a single tap. Users of iPhone 14 Pro and newer models will also see updates in the Dynamic Island at the top of the display.

Apple News offered Live Activities for caucus results earlier this year. The tool offers an excellent way to quickly view electoral results without being subject to the standard news coverage gang.
