A video allegedly showing the unboxing of a so-far unannounced 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 chip was uploaded to YouTube on Sunday by Russian channel Wylsacom. While the video may not be authentic, it has been linked to on X by Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.
While the authenticity of the video cannot be confirmed, the box shown in the video reveals four potential features for what is apparently the base model 14-inch MacBook Pro.
The claimed specs for what is said to be the base model are:
- A Faster 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU (up from the M3’s 8-core CPU) M4 chip
- 16GB RAM (up from 8GB)
- 512GB storage
- Three Thunderbolt 4 ports (up from two on the base model)
- Space Black color option
The increase in RAM from the previous models makes sense, as Apple Intelligence is known to be RAM hungry (the iPhone 16 line-up received a RAM boost to 8GB.
Gurman today said he expects Apple to announce the first Macs with M4 chips in late October, and release at least some of them on Friday, November 1.
Below, you can view the video, but be aware that the video could be removed from YouTube at any time.
