End of an Era, Beginning of a New One: All Macs Now Start With 16GB RAM

With the debut of the new iMac, Mac mini, and MacBook Pro models, all of Apple’s Mac models are now available with a base memory size of 16GB or more. Apple also announced that its MacBook Air lineup now also starts with 16GB of RAM in the base model.

Until now, the iMac, Mac mini, 14-inch MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air all started with 8GB of RAM, leading to some Apple customers complaining of the limited base memory in recent years.

While Apple marketing had argued that 8GB of RAM in a Mac was equal to 16GB or RAM in a Windows PC, due to how efficient the M-Series chips’ unified memory is, Apple has apparently taken users’ complaints to heart.

As for the latest Mac Studio and Mac Pro, they already came equipped with base RAM in 32GB and 64GB sizes, respectively.
