Apple will soon kick off production on its new M4-powered 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models ahead of an expected early 2025 launch, reports Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman. Gurman says there are no new design changes in the cards for the new MacBook Air models, with the focus solely on the M4 chips powering the new models.
Apple is planning to bring the M4 to its entire Mac lineup, with the first M4-, M4 Pro-, and M4 Max-powered Macs expected to debut next week. Apple is planning new iMac, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini models.
New MacBook Air models are expected to debut sometime in the January-March timeframe, followed later by a refreshed Mac Studio. Gurman says the Mac Studio was originally intended to debut alongside the MacBook Air, but it will instead be delayed until sometime between March and June.
While an M4 Mac Pro is also in development, but it is not likely to debut until later in 2025.
Apple is also expected to unveil a refreshed iPhone SE, the iPad Air, and base model iPad, as well as a new keyboard for the iPad Air around the same time as the release of the new MacBook Air models in early 2025.
