Apple Teases Exciting Week of (M4 Mac) Announcements for Next Week

Apple’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, Greg Joswiak today teased Apple’s plans for an “exciting week of announcements” next week.  As Joswiak said to “Mac your calendars,” indicating a eek of M4 Mac-related announcements next week beginning Monday.

Joswiak’s announcement basically confirms that there will not be an October media event for Macs this year. It is likely that Apple will instead introduce the new products via press release. On Monday, the iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 software updates will be released. However, new Mac announcements could also begin on Monday. In previous years, Apple has followed a “launch-per-day” release schedule for new products when they didn’t hold an event.

There have been several rumors about what to expect from the upcoming Mac releases. We expect to see M4-powered models of the MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini.

The ‌iMac‌, entry-level ‌Mac mini‌, and entry-level ‌MacBook Pro‌ will all be powered by the M4 chip, which debuted earlier this year in the new iPad Pro models. Higher-end ‌MacBook Pro‌ models will be powered by M4 Pro and M4 Max chips, while the ‌Mac mini‌ will also boast the M4 Pro.

While the new iMac and MacBook Pro models are not expected to benefit from any outward design changes, although the Mac mini is rumored to get a reduction in size, making it closer in size to the Apple TV, although it could be a bit thicker. Entry-level Macs are expected to boast RAM starting at 16GB in place of the 8GB in current entry-level models, offering better performance for Apple Intelligence features.

Stay tuned next week for all of the Mac-related developments, as we’ll be reporting about them right here at Mactrast.
