Apple today released new firmware for its AirPods 4 wireless earbuds. The new firmware has a build number of 7B19, up from the 7A304 firmware released in September.
Apple has not furnished any information about what’s included in the firmware, but it is available for both the standard AirPods 4 and the AirPods 4 with ANC. This marks the second firmware update that the AirPods 4 have received since they launched earlier this year.
While Apple doesn’t offer a way to manually upgrade AirPods firmware, but it is generally installed over-the-air when the AirPods are in a charging case and connected via Bluetooth to an iOS device or Mac.
If you place the AirPods 4 in their case, connect them to a power source, and then pair them to an iPhone or iPad, they should update after a short period of time.
