Apple on Tuesday announced that it will begin accepting submissions for its 2025 Swift Student Challenge in February. The submission period will be open for three weeks. The program had provided thousands of students around the globe an opportunity to show off their creativity and development skills.
Submissions for the 2025 Swift Student Challenge will open in February for three weeks. Students, educators, and their advocates can find out how to prepare for the challenge and sign up to be notified when applications open at developer.apple.com. Apple will recognize a total of 350 Swift Student Challenge winners whose submissions demonstrate excellence in innovation, creativity, social impact, or inclusivity. From this esteemed group, 50 Distinguished Winners will receive additional recognition and be invited to Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino next summer.

Every year, we’re incredibly impressed by the ingenuity of the apps students are creating, and we’re excited to see what the next round of the challenge will bring,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations.
The challenge provides an opportunity for students to join the community of developers who use Apple’s Swift development language to create apps for Apple’s devices, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro.
Apple will begin accepting submissions for the the 2025 Swift Student Challenge in February for a three week period. Students can find information on how to prepare for the challenge and also sign up to be notified when the application period begins at developer.apple.com.
Apple will recognize a total of 350 Swift Student Challenge winners. From that group of 350 winners, 50 Distinguished Winners will be chosen, who will receive additional recognition, as well as an innovation to Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino for a summer 2025 visit.
Alongside the announcement of the upcoming Swift Student Challenge, Apple also updated its “Swift Coding Club” resources that will allow students to prepare for the challenge, building a community with their peers, while developing skills for their future careers.
The Swift Coding Club starter kit that will aid students in informing their friends, classmates, and other students know about the club. Items in the kit – which includes social images and starter copy, and invitation flyer, a t-shirt template, and more – can be used by students to name and promote their club, attract members, and celebrate their achievements.
Student developers can also access Apple’s developer forums, where they can ask questions, share information, and discuss development topics with Apple engineers and other independent developers.
Apple is also offering meeting plans to provide suggestions for club activities, which will help members learn about SwiftUI foundations, basics of data modeling, spatial computing, and more.
Apple is also offering new Develop in Swift Tutorials, allowing students to learn about Swift, SwiftUI, and Xcode, as well as learning about data modeling, spatial computing, and more.
