Tim Cook Announces Apple Will Donate To Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts

Apple CEO Tim Cook today announced that Apple will be donating an unspecified amount to relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Helene. Cook’s announcement came in the form of a post on X.

“We’re thinking of all those facing the catastrophic aftermath of Hurricane Helene,” said Cook. “Apple will be making a donation to help with relief efforts on the ground.”

Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida late Thursday, and then proceeded to cause havoc in several southeastern U.S. states such as Georgia and North Carolina, resulting in catastrophic flooding and damage, as well as reportedly more than 100 deaths.

Apple has donated to the American Red Cross for hurricane relief efforts in the past. In 2016, Apple partnered with the American Red Cross to help support relief efforts for those affected by widespread flooding in southern Louisiana. In January 2020, Apple again partnered with the Red Cross to accept donations to help with fire relief efforts in Australia.
