iOS 18 adds a new option in the Camera app that will allow you to pause in the middle of recording a video, capturing multiple shots in a single video, rather than starting and stopping a new video each time.
As reported by MacRumors, when you start to record a video in iOS 18, you’ll see a new pause button on the left side. Pressing it pauses the video, and pressing the button again unpauses. Aa video can still be stopped at any time using the middle stop button.
The new video pausing feature was added to the iOS 18 release candidate that was provided to developers and public beta testers earlier this week.
While it hasn’t bene confirmed, the new pause and record video feature will likely be controllable by the new Camera Control button that will be available on Apple’s new iPhone 16 lineup.
iOS 18 is scheduled to be released to the public on Monday, September 16, while the iPhone 16 models will hot store shelves on Friday, September 20. Pre-orders will begin this Friday, September 13.
