Apple is developing a new Magic Keyboard accessory for the base-model iPad, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Gurman‘s remarks came in his latest “Power On” newsletter. Gurman said Apple’s suppliers are working on a new keyboard for the iPad that is scheduled to launch in mid-2025. The accessory is said to be intended for use with the entry-level iPad or the iPad Air, but not the iPad Pro. While the new Magic Keyboard will lack an aluminum top case like the new Magic Keyboard for the M4 iPad Pro, it may boast a function row.
Earlier this year, Apple unveiled a completely redesigned Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro, which features an aluminum top case, a function row, and a larger trackpad. The previous generation Magic Keyboard for the iPad Air is still being sold, as is the Magic Keyboard Folio for the 10th-generation iPad.
