Apple Watch Series 10 Could Boast Upgraded Heart Rate Sensor and Improved Water Resistance

As we reported earlier today, the upcoming Apple Watch Series 10 will include a new sleep apnea detection feature, although it may not be available when the new model launches, due to its reliance on the Apple Watch’s currently disabled blood oxygen monitoring feature. The Series 10 is also expected to sport an updated heart rate and ECG sensor that will also be used for sleep apnea.

Now comes a report from 9to5Mac that says that while there have been reports that the new Apple Watch Series 10 models will have larger 45mm and 49mm display sizes, the display resolutions are lower than current 45mm and 49mm models, and the site believes that the Series 10 will come in 44mm and 48mm sizes and the new watch sizes will be highlighted by a new “Reflections” watch face, as well as a “Regatta” Hermès watch face.

The publication says the Hermès watch face will also be available for the Apple Watch Ultra 3, indicating that the first ever Hermès band will be available for the Ultra.

The Apple Watch Series 10 could also get improved water resistance, certifying the device for high-speed water sports up to 20 meters deep. The new Watch may also get the Depth app, which has until now been limited to the Apple Watch Ultra.

An upgraded S10 chip and new OLED display technology that is more power efficient is also rumored to be on the way to the Series 10.
