Apple Preparing iOS 18.0.1 Update for iPhone Following Reports of Multiple Bugs

Website analytic logs seen this week indicate Apple is internally testing an iOS 18.0.1 update for the iPhone. MacRumors reports seeing visits from iPhones running iOS 18.0.1 and similar logs in the past have revealed several iOS versions before they were released to the public.

iOS 18.0.1 is expected to be a minor bug fix-centric update, addressing bugs that have been reported by users since the release of iOS 18 earlier this month. Reported issues include touchscreen issues affecting the iPhone 16 lineup, as well as some older iPhone models; an iMessage bug where a shared Apple Watch face can cause the app to repeatedly crash, and iPadOS 18 bricking some iPad Pro units with the M4 chip.

We could see an iOS 18.0.1 release as soon as next week.

iOS 18.1 is also currently being tested by developers and public beta testers. Apple has announced it will be released in October. iOS 18.1 includes the initial Apple Intelligence features for the iPhone, including writing tools, notification summaries, and other features. Apple Intelligence requires an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or any iPhone 16 model.
