Leaker Claims AirPods Pro 3 to Boast ‘Much Better’ Active Noise Cancellation

A previously-accurate leaker says Apple’s upcoming third-generation AirPods Pro will boast “much better” active noise cancellation than the second-generation AirPods Pro.

The previously-accurate leaker known as Kosutami posted on the social network formerly known as Twitter today, and while the leaker said the AirPods Pro 3 would offer active noise cancellation. they didn’t offer any additional details of the alleged upgrade.

Apple is expected to unveil both low-end and mid-tier AirPods 4 models at its upcoming iPhone event to be held on September 9 at Apple Park. While Kosutami has also claimed that the AirPods Pro 3 are also coming “soon,” Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman has previously said that Apple is planning to release its redesigned AirPods Pro in 2025.

Gurman says we can expect to see both versions of the AirPods 4 to make the move to USB-C. The entry-level AirPods 4 will likely lack wireless charging, while the mid-level buds will offer the feature, continuing to follow the same strategy the company followed with its AirPods 2 and AirPods 3 lineup.

Gurman also says the upcoming AirPods 4 are intended to act as a replacement for both models, as the new earbuds will be available as both an entry-level AirPods 2 replacement and a mid-tier model that will take the place of the AirPod 3. While the new earbuds will have a similar design, only the mid-tier AirPods 4 will boast active noise cancellation.

While AirPods Max are also rumored to be receiving an update later this year, the only change expected is a USB-C charging port replacing the current Lightning port.
