Apple today announced that Apple Podcasts can now be listened to in your browser, with no need for the Podcasts app. The new feature is compatible with Safari, Chrome, Edge, and Firefox on Macs, PCs, and other devices. Users can search for, browse through, and listen to podcasts with access to the Up Next queue and library in the browser when they are signed into an Apple Account.
“Users can now get the favorite features they love,” said the company, “including the ability to browse millions of shows across a variety of categories, access their Library and Top Charts, purchase premium podcast subscriptions, and much more.”
Apple Podcasts. on the web is intended for Windows PC and Android users. Clicking an Apple Podcasts web link on an Apple device will instead cause the native Podcasts app to open.
Apple Podcasts on the web comes one month after Apple debuted Apple Maps on the web.
Users with non-Apple devices can visit the Apple Podcasts website by clicking here. If you’re on an Apple device and have the Podcast’s app installed, the native app will instead launch in place of taking you to the website.
