Apple has begun accepting applications for its upcoming 2024 Entrepreneur Camp app education program. The annual program is designed to help founders from female and underrepresented groups meet their unique challenges.
We believe apps for everyone should be made by everyone.
Research shows that founders from underrepresented communities face unique challenges, especially when starting and leading technology companies. We created Apple Entrepreneur Camp with the goal of supporting these founders and their organizations as they build the next generation of cutting-edge apps and to form a global network that encourages the pipeline and longevity of underrepresented founders and developers in technology.
Apple will offer in-person sessions for the first time since 2019. The in-person sessions will take place at the Apple Developer Center.
“We’re excited to welcome back founders to Apple Developer Center, where they’ll have the opportunity to learn from Apple experts and meet other developers in-person,” says Apple in a statement.
The 2024 Entrepreneur Camp will be divided into multiple in-person cohorts, including a cohort for Black, Hispanic/Latinx, and Indigenous founders, along with in-person training for female founders.
Entrepreneur Camp offers programming for founders and developers who are female, Black, Hispanic/Latinx, or Indigenous and have the following:
- An app-driven business
- An app that uses Apple technologies and frameworks; and
- A functional and complete app that’s available on the App Store, as a beta build on TestFlight, or as an .IPA in an equivalent state.
A combined virtual female and underrepresented cohort will also take place.
This year, there will be different start dates for each of the groups:
Apple Entrepreneur Camp consists of an immersive technology lab, as well as exclusive programming for alumni. Once attendees have completed their final demos, they’ll also have access to:
The program will include coding lessons from Apple experts., offer the opportunity for participants to meet with Apple executives and more. After the lab, users will be able to present their progress, receive feedback from those assembled, and have an opportunity to offer a live demo of their app.
Applications can be made on Apple’s developer site, and applications will close on September 3, 2024. Eligibility criteria can be found here.
