iCloud Private Relay Still Down for Some Safari Users

Apple’s iCloud Private Relay service has been down for some users since Thursday afternoon. The service is shown as having an issue on Apple’s System Status page. Apple says that the ‌iCloud‌ Private Relay service may be slow or unavailable.

The outage started at 2:34 p.m. Eastern Time, but it is not affecting all ‌iCloud‌ users. Some users are unable to browse the web without turning ‌iCloud‌ Private Relay off, while other users are experiencing slow loading times.

Private Relay is an internet privacy service that hides your IP address in Safari and protects your unencrypted traffic. When it’s on, you can browse the web in a more secure and private way.

‌iCloud‌ Private Relay is available to anyone with a paid ‌iCloud‌ account. Although that isn’t exactly true at the moment.

We’ll update this article when the outage has been resolved or when we have more to report about it.
