Apple Replaces Space Gray HomePod mini With New Midnight Color

Apple has today updated the HomePod mini with a new (well, actually it’s a slightly different) color. The HomePod mini is now available in a new Midnight color option, which replaces the quite similar “space gray” color option. The midnight color has a slightly bluer tone, although most people will simply look at it and say, “Oh, you mean the black color.”

The new shade exactly matches the shade of black that is available for the larger second-generation HomePod (which is available in Midnight and White).

The HomePod mini was first released in November 2020 and stands at just 3.3 inches tall, compared to the original’s 6.8 inches.

While many have expected a new generation of the HomePod mini, today’s color update likely indicated that we won’t see a new HomePod mini until farther down the line.

The HomePod mini in midnight is available to order today from the Apple online store for $99. First deliveries will arrive starting July 17.
