Fans of the popular Apple TV+ series Severance will be glad to know Apple will likely soon provide more information about the upcoming second season of the show.
Apple on Tuesday posted a teaser about the upcoming new season on X. The short video shows a darkened hallway with a blinking red light at the end of the hall. The blinking light appears to say “tomorrow” in Morse code.
Severance cast members including Adam Scott have also been teasing an upcoming announcement. The Apple TV+ Severance page says the new season will debut on January 17, 2025.
Filming on season two of the show wrapped in April. Apple is teasing the show to build up anticipation among viewers, who may have almost forgotten about the show, as the first season debuted back in 2022. Production of the second season was delayed due to the strikes by the writers union and SAG-AFTRA, which caused an eight-month delay.
The show’s somewhat unusual premise is as follows:
In “Severance,” Mark Scout (Adam Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure that surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work … and of himself. In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.
Severance has become one of the most discussed and analyzed Apple TV+ shows.
