OpenAI announced on Tuesday that its ChatGPT app for Mac is now available to all users. The app was released in mid-May, although it was a slow rollout that had been limited to ChatGPT Plus subscribers until now.
The ChatGPT Mac app is designed to make it easier for users to access ChatGPT. Users can ask questions about email, screenshots, websites, and content on the Mac. A quick press of the Option + Space combination on the keyboard brings up a chat interface for making ChatGPT queries.
A built-in Voice Mode allows users to have conversations with ChatGPT. Users can look through previous conversations, thanks to the app’s search feature.
No subscription plan is necessary for using ChatGPT on the Mac. While OpenAI has made the latest version of ChatGPT, GPT-4o, available for free, it is only for a limited number of requests.
ChatGPT will be integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, thanks to Apple’s agreement with OpenAI. Apple’s Siri personal assistant will hand off complicated requests to ChatGPT, but only with user permission.
