Now that Apple has discontinued the ninth-generation iPad, the lineup of Apple devices and accessories that still use a Lightning connector is down to a precious few. Okay, it’s down to 11.
As noted by MacRumors, there are still multiple older iPhone models, the base model AirPods, the “Magic” accessories for the Mac, and a few other products that are still dependent on Apple’s Lightning connector. These include:
- iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14, iPhone 13, and iPhone SE
- Second-generation and third-generation AirPods
- AirPods Max
- First-generation Apple Pencil
- Magic Keyboard
- Magic Mouse
- Magic Trackpad
Apple has been slowly but surely transitioning its products over to industry standard USB-C. Apple’s entire iPhone 15 lineup now uses USB-C, as do all of the company’s iPads, and several other accessories.
