Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that while there will be an Apple Watch Ultra 3 released this year, the new model will have “almost no” hardware upgrades compared to the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Kuo did not reveal any specific changes Apple might have planned for the Apple Watch Ultra 3, which will likely see a September launch alongside the iPhone 16 lineup.
A third-generation Apple Watch SE is a possibility this year if Apple continues its traditional two-year upgrade cycle for the SE. However, the model that will succeed the current Apple Watch Series 9 is a bit murky. While Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has mentioned a redesigned “Apple Watch X,” sporting a thinner case and magnetic bands, Gurman said the new Apple Watch would be released “in 2024 or 2025,” so it could hit shelves either this year or next. (The Apple Watch debuted in September 2014, launching April 2015, meaning the device’s tenth anniversary could reasonably be celebrated for either date, which leads to Gurman’s “in 2024 or 2025” remarks._
Gurman has also said the model that replaces the Series 9 will boast blood pressure sensing and sleep apnea detection. Those features will almost certainly be included on the Apple Watch Ultra 3’s list of features.
