Apple Seeds macOS Sonoma 14.5 Release Candidate to Developers for Testing

Apple today seeded the release candidate of its macOS Sonoma 14.5 update to developers. The release candidate comes one week after the release of the fourth beta.

The developer build of macOS Sonoma 14.5 can be downloaded by developers through the Apple Developer Center and once the correct profile is installed, succeeding betas will be available through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences.

macOS 14.5 Release Notes

macOS Sonoma 14.5 includes the following improvements and bug fixes:

  • Quartiles is a new and original daily word game that is now available in Apple News+
  • Scoreboard in News+ Puzzles gives you access to new player data for Crossword, Mini Crossword and Quartiles, including stats and streaks

Some features may not be available for all regions, or on all Apple devices.

‌macOS Sonoma‌ 14.5 could be released to the public as soon as next week.

As usual, both MacTrast and Apple warn users to not install any betas or release candidates on their daily driver Mac, instead only installing them on devices set aside for testing purposes.
