Apple on Tuesday released tvOS 17.5.1, an update for the tvOS 17 operating system that debuted last September. The new release comes one week after the release of tvOS 17.5.1.
The tvOS 17.5.1 update can be downloaded via the Settings app on the Apple TV by going to “System” -> “Software Update.” If you have automatic software updates turned on your Apple TV will be upgraded to tvOS 17.5.1 automatically.
While tvOS updates are typically minor in scale compared to other operating system updates – focusing primarily on bug fixes and smaller improvements. However, tvOS 17.5.1 includes a fix for a bug in the Photos app that can cause deleted images to make a return appearance.
This update addresses a rare issue where photos that experienced database corruption could reappear in the Photos library even if they were deleted.
Apple fixed the same bug in the iOS 17.5.1 and iPadOS 17.5.1 updates that were released yesterday.
