Apple macOS Sonoma 14.5 Now Available to the Public – Brings New Word Game in Apple News+

Apple on Monday released macOS Sonoma 14.5, the update to the company’s latest Mac operating system. The update adds a new “Quartiles” word game for Apple News+ subscribers and allows for tracking stats and streaks of News+ games.

The ‌‌macOS Sonoma‌ 14.5 update is a free download on all compatible Macs using the Software Update section of System Settings.

Apple’s full release notes for the update are as follows:

macOS Sonoma 14.5 includes the following improvements and bug fixes:
– Quartiles is a new and original daily word game that is now available in Apple News+
– Scoreboard in News+ Puzzles gives you access to new player data for Crossword, Mini Crossword and Quartiles, including stats and streaks

We’re nearing the end of the life cycle for macOS Sonoma, and version 14.5 will likely be one of the last updates we’ll see for the current Mac operating system, as Apple will unveil macOS (fill in Cali landmark here) 15 at next month’s WWDC 24 developer event.
