Analyst Pu: ‘iPhone 17 Slim’ With Smaller Display to Launch in 2025

Sure, we don’t know for sure what features the iPhone 16 lineup will boast, but we can look at iPhone 17 rumors, right?

In a research note with investment firm Haitong this week, analyst Jeff Pu said Apple is planning to offer an “iPhone 17 Slim” model that would be a replacement for the Plus model in the lineup. Pu said the “Slim” will boast a close to 6.6-inch display, a slimmer design, an A18 or A19 chip, 8GB of RAM, a 24-megapixel front camera, and a 48-megapixel telephoto camera.

Display industry analyst Ross Young has said the iPhone 17 Slim will have a 6.55-inch display. (The iPhone 15 Plus has a 6.7-inch display.)

Pu expects the iPhone 17 Slim to sport an aluminum chassis, while the Pro models will continue to use a titanium casing. While he expects the Slim to sport some external design changes, he did not go into details.

As always with reports like these, a lot could change between September 2025 and now, so stay tuned.
