Apple is probably at least 18 months away from launching a second-generation Vision Pro, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Gurman’s comments come in the latest edition of his “Power On” newsletter.
That timeframe would put the debut of a second-generation Vision Pro headset in late August 2025 at the earliest. Gurman noted that Apple is tracking the reasons why customers returning the first-generation Vision Pro headset to the Apple Store are doing so, collecting feedback from retail stores to the company’s headquarters to help improve the next version of the headset.
Gurman’s comments indicate we won’t see the Vision Pro receiving a model update annually like the Apple Watch or iPhone, but instead, the Vision Pro’s refresh cycle will likely be more like that of the iPad.
It is also possible that we might see a more affordable Vision headset debut sometime around 2025, according to reports from both Bloomberg and The Information.
