visionOS 1.0.1 Update Ready for Download Ahead of Vision Pro Launch

While the Apple Vision Pro does not officially launch until February 2, Apple has already released visionOS 1.0.1 for the headset, according to developer Nicolás Álvarez (via MacRumors). Apple has not yet begun publishing release notes for visionOS, so it is unclear what is included in the software update. However, the version number indicates the update is a minor “bug fix” release.

The update should be available on new Vision Pro headsets right out of the box. That includes the Vision Pro review units that Apple reportedly began sending out on the 23rd. It will also likely be available as a day-one update on February 2 when the public begins receiving the headsets.

Alvarez says visionOS 1.0.1 is the first-ever software update for the Vision Pro, and it has a build number of 21N311. We will likely see a visionOS 2.0 update with new features unveiled at WWDC 2024 in June.
