Apple has sold approximately 200,000 Vision Pro headsets, according to a MacRumors report. The publication says a source with knowledge of Apple’s sales numbers says the company has sold that amount during the first 10 days it has been available for pre-order.
Last Monday, Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said Apple sold between 160,000 and 180,000 Vision Pro headsets during its first pre-order weekend.
Apple’s new headset sold out soon after the pre-order process opened, as we saw shipping times for all models slip by 5 to 7 weeks. While the instant sell-out and slipping shipping times may appear to be positive a positive thing at first glance, Kuo pointed out that shipping dates remain unchanged 48 hours after pre-orders opened, which indicated that demand may be quickly dropping after enthusiasts placed their orders.
Kuo sid he believes that Apple should easily ship 500,000 Vision Pro units this year, but demand is a key question as “Vision Pro is still a very niche product.”
We will begin seeing Vision Pro reviews this week, and positive reviews should spur more sales. We’ll also likely see a bump in sales once the headset gets into the hands of actual users and they begin sharing their hands-on experiences.
