Pre-orders for Apple’s new Vision Pro headset kicked off this morning in the United States, and with it, Apple has shared the full technical specifications for the new headset.
Apple has confirmed that the M2 chip in the Vision Pro boasts an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU, along with 16GB of unified memory. The Vision Pro is available with 3 storage options, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
As we already know, the Vision Pro is also equipped with an all-new R1 chip that “processes input from 12 cameras, five sensors, and six microphones to ensure that content feels like it is appearing right in front of the user’s eyes.” The R1 chip has 256GB/s memory bandwidth.
The new headset also includes dual micro-OLED displays with more than 23 million pixels, with 92% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Supported refresh rates include 90Hz, 96Hz, and 100Hz, with 24 fps and 30 fps video playback options.
The headset also boasts AirPlay support at up to 1080p, allowing users to mirror their Vision Pro view to any AirPlay‑enabled device.
The Apple Vision Pro starts at $3,499 (U.S.) with 256GB of storage. Pre-orders for Apple Vision Pro began this morning, Friday, January 19, at 5 a.m. PST, the headset will arrive in stores on Friday, February 2.
