Apple today released a new firmware update for its third-generation AirPods. The new firmware is version 6A321, up from the 6A317 firmware released in December.
Apple does not offer immediately available release notes on what’s included in refreshed firmware updates for the third-generation AirPods.
There isn’t any way to manually update the firmware of the earbuds, and the new software will be installed over the air while the AirPods 3 are connected via Bluetooth to an iOS device.
If you place the AirPods 3 in their case, connect them to a power source, and then pair them to an iPhone or iPad, they should update after a short period of time.
