Apple on Wednesday released a visionOS 1.0.2 update, two days ahead of the Vision Pro headset’s scheduled February 2 release. Developer Nicolás Álvarez posted about it on X. Apple had updated the OS to version 1.0.1 last week.
There is no word on what is included in visionOS 1.0.2. However, while Vision Pro has yet to be released, there are review units in the hands of members of the media, and they will be able to download and install this update.
visionOS 1.0.2 addresses a WebKit vulnerability that Apple says may have been actively exploited. While the issue was also fixed in visionOS 1.0.1 for developers, the fix is included in visionOS 1.0.2 for those updating from visionOS 1.0.
The update should be available on new Vision Pro headsets right out of the box on Friday.
We will likely see a visionOS 2.0 update with new features unveiled at WWDC 2024 in June.
