Apple is planning to open three new retail stores in the near future, two in the United States and one in Canada. That news comes via building permits shared by MacRumors.
Apple plans a new store in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County, located in the Center shopping mall in Torrance, California. Apple filed building permits for the new location back in October.
The new Apple retail location will be located on the main level of the mall, residing in two side-by-side retail spaces in between Lululemon and Madewell. The spaces were formerly occupied by J.Crew and Chico’s.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman revealed the plans back in June. Gurman had gotten his hands on an internal retail expansion roadmap that showed Apple plans to open the store in March 2024.
Meanwhile, Apple is also planning a store in the Square One shopping mall in Mississauga, Ontario, located west of Toronto in Canada. The store will be located on the second floor of the mall, in a space previously occupied by Massimo Dutti. The location will be located directly above the food court, making it perfect for lunchtime shopping excursions.
Apple also filed a building permit with Gwinnett County in Georgia in May 2023. Apple is planning to relocate its Mall of Georgia location which is located in Buford, northeast of Atlanta. The new store will remain in the mall and will be located in an unspecified location within the mall.
Apple’s roadmap indicated that the company had expected to open the new Square One and Mall of Georgia stores late this year. However, the projects are taking longer to complete, resulting in delays.
